Conservative leaders urge President Trump to veto Congress’ $1.4 trillion 5,593-page attempt to combine COVID relief with government spending legislation.

With only six hours from release of the text to voting, not a single Member of Congress or Senator could have read the bill in its entirety. Eleventh-hour, pork-laden bills have become par for the course for a legislative branch that has grown accustomed to abdicating its responsibility.

Americans deserve to be able to work, open their businesses, and an appropriations process that benefits the country, rather than enriching K Street lobbyists. Congress should do better.

We stand with the conservative Members of Congress urging the president to veto this spending legislation, and ask him to do the same.
