We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your commitment to achieving at least $1.5 trillion in real cuts in the upcoming Reconciliation legislation as you work alongside President Trump, Speaker Mike Johnson, and fiscal conservatives in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Your efforts are greatly appreciated and will have a significant impact on our nation’s fiscal health.
Currently, the U.S. national debt stands at approximately $36 trillion, with a debt-to-GDP ratio hovering around 97 percent. [i] These figures underscore the importance of fiscal responsibility and the need for substantial cuts to ensure a sustainable economic future.
These cuts should be structured to have the most significant impact as early as possible. They should also avoid gimmicks such as putting all the cuts into later years, where they will have less immediate impact and likely not happen.
